Lately I am questioning what is reality and what is not.
Since when does a URL start with with b:// or c://? (Sadly, I don't really understand how the internet works. I just use it.)
Is this what is called a paradigm shift?

"is this is what is called a paradigm shift?"
Well, these small (yet huge) changes in alphabetical soup leading people to source information certainly show that patterns are changing,
by the same token... my experience of the internet is that the models used now are foreign for me as a human being. Having information thrown back at me months after searching/buying an item, boxes continually asking me if I want to subscribe, join, connect, read more, blocking my view until I comply with rules unexpectedly interrupting a casual read... painful. The way online activity is headed makes me reluctant to browse as often as I did when first discovering what I saw as a global communication network freeing me to explore the unknown.
The metanet as I understand it is the world bitcoin has always promised, a peer to peer system for not only money, for information, data, to connect with goods, services, people, a system that gives me choice and power in the way I WANT to use my computer. Be able to pay for data, sell it to whom I please from my terms and conditions, contract smartly at whatever % suits me... into mortgages that I can share both the costs and profit... plus a wide range of other computerised intelligence.
From that view, yes paradigms are shifting... into ways that work with how I naturally relate to information and people. And that's like shifting back home.

Reality is just a point of view. Its personal perception.
Reality is not Truth (and most people think that it is)

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I've also watched the mainstream version of the internet evolve throughout my adult life, since dial-up days to present ("Hi! We noticed you have an adblocker installed.") People have been willing to sacrifice their privacy to Google, Facebook, etc. because most others are doing the same and are too busy to look into the situation. The alternative is to disconnect from their current networks. I became rather disillusioned realizing that millions of artists provide daily "content" for Instagram without compensation, whilst simultaneously being the product (for advertisers). The alternative (Metanet?) needs to be framed in a way in which people are able to understand the true benefits, and I'm not sure how to articulate that because people will tolerate quite a lot of pain for the perception of "free" and connected.
@-Ed- Reality, to my understanding, is what exists in the world. The concept of truth is a whole other ball of wax, which philosophers have been discussing for a really long time. I enjoy reading articles like this to jumpstart the pondering: https://www.brainpickings.org/2019/03/13/wolfgang-pauli-carl-jung-figuring/
