I first started writing on this platform almost a month ago. Although I've had a wonderful time expressing my opinions on different topics and reading the valuable opinions/writings of others, I can't help but notice a major issue with the content on this platform.
This issue makes itself known as soon as you hit the new tab. Whilst expecting to see an array of different ideas, writings, point-of-views, and other valuable content which we've become accustomed to seeing on this innovative platform, instead our browser windows are propagated by piles of spam.
This spam usually takes the form in links to free movies, episodes, game hacks, and other low-effort content.
These post never receive any donations or votes. And since their posters always hike up the price of commenting to some crazy amount, because all they're really interested in is making a quick buck, you can't even do so much as request that the author cease posting low-quality content or give him feedback of any sort. It seems that all these post are successful in doing is clogging up the new section, thus burying quality content which would have otherwise been voted upon and enjoyed by the community.
I think that these low-quality posts are seriously disrupting the mechanics of yours.org, and something more needs to be done about them, as the voting system fails to prevent these articles from burying higher quality content and thus exiling them into obscurity. I wrote this post in order to identify the problem, but I'd love to hear what you guys have to suggest as solutions to this problem. I'm currently stumped in trying to figure one out for myself, besides perhaps suggesting curation by yours.org staff, but I don't know if I'd trust them to decide what's low-quality and what's high-quality.
