Mom lecture/rant incoming.
Today's doodle is brought to you by the daily gong show of the "BCH gang" on Twitter (and I can't comment on Slack/Telegram chats because I'll stay away from those with a ten foot pole).
Preface: I've been listening to my children bickering with each other, especially towards the end of the long, hot summer, so am aware that my patience is wearing thin. I expect that's what pre-teenage siblings do as they learn how to get along with other humans.
So here is the tweet I didn't send this afternoon, Sept. 6th, 2018 at 1:40 p.m. local time:
Omg, you guys. This is embarrassing. Like dirty socks all over my Twitter feed. Possibly more irritating than listening to my own kids fight. I call a "timeout" for everybody (you too, @r0bbot!), not as a punishment but as a breather. Go take a hike/walk and cool it.
I decided to cut and paste it into a word document for posterity because that action felt like a more rational choice than interrupting a Twitter thread by hitting "reply" (and then proceeding to get flooded with endless Twitter @replies for the next several hours).
Why are so many public fights being instigated and perpetuated in the Bitcoin Cash "community"?
At this point I'm pondering whether the fighting participants are purposely making people who support Bitcoin Cash look like idiots, and/or are extremely stressed out and/or bored??? Do we lack that amount of self awareness and maturity? Am I just old (or old-fashioned) and don't understand the purpose of the crypto-Twittersphere?
There are not so many of us, the people who support Bitcoin Cash and a vision of global, uncensorable p2p electronic cash for everyone.
Whether you signed up for the role or not, we are unofficial ambassadors and leaders of a movement/revolution. And, adults. Outsiders looking in will decide whether or not to get involved (i.e. apply positive energy towards a common goal) based on what they see on social media. If these lurkers see a bunch of barking BCHers and dirty laundry/socks hanging everywhere, we will not attract more high calibre participants to push this thing along AGAINST ALL ODDS.
I have a tiny amount of hope that profit motive is reason enough for serious businesses to consider integrating Bitcoin Cash into their plans. Public relations-wise, as long as BCHers are behaving like bickering children, the optics are not attractive for outsiders.
Can we please raise the bar? Geez.

In case you missed it, this is what initially convinced me to jump in with both feet:
"Letter from the CEO" (Just in case, I'll reaffirm that there is actually no CEO of Bitcoin Cash. It's a tongue-in-cheek proclamation.)

Thanks for this Satoshi Doodles. I wanted to write a comment saying I wish everyone could get along, but knowing what's at stake, and how each camp feels about the other, I guess that's not possible. Both sides are confident they are right and that the other is out to destroy peer to peer electronic cash so a compromise seems out of the question. It also sounds like another chain split is not possible for a number of reasons. I have loved using BCH these past months to play poker, to buy stuff on Purse, to tip on Yours and Memo and Twitter, to donate small amounts to those in need on the other side of the planet, not to mention to see the disco lights on Txstreet.com. I've imagined what could be possible with this technology and the changes it could fuel. And now it seems like we're so busy fighting with one another it's hopeless. It's not like our community is that big to begin with. And there are people on both sides whose opinions I respect so I don't know what to think anymore. Divide and conquer indeed.
Edit: I just read the letter you linked to. I'd never seen that before. I'm glad you shared it.

I am very glad, happy, that you gained attention and respect from cryptoland. And are in position that people are listening to you, and your conscious art can penetrate our minds and hearts. So much needed.

The problem can not be solved with same conscious that it was created.

I cannot agree with you more, we are already fighting a uphill battle for adoption and reputation. How can we aproach new users or merchants and ask for BCH acceptence when we are no longer certain of the chain or it's roadmap. This infighting if not stopped may again push merchant adoption forward 5 to 10 year, and than it will be to late. They will choose other chains if they provide more reliable and stable grounds to build on. I am really getting disappointed in a lot of devs who care more about ego and having it their way, losing sight of wat matters most and what is most urgent. Yes we do need scaling, but for now we first need scaling of userbase, scaling of merchant adoption.

This is exactly why I think the bulk of BCH discussion needs to move over to memo.cash immediately. Everything you say is permanent on-chain so you definitely think twice before hitting send. Also it proves that behind every post is someone who owns at least a tiny bit of BCH. The last added benefit is that it'll be out of the public eye a bit more so we don't look like a bunch of Jr. High kids to investors who might be considering taking the plunge.
It's time!

LOL...you held out much longer than I did. There were many times in the last few weeks, I would type out a tweet or a reply to someone and then delete it because it hurts our case for BCH as a whole.
I hang out at BCA discord to vent sometimes. But its getting harder being a bystander in this "war" where anything goes and not call out destructive things.
I honestly don't know what to do to help the community or even myself. A video from our CEO a few months back was the trigger for me to think before shooting off my mouth and signs were clear since the beginning of this conflict about the direction it was going to be taken in
At the end, if you ever see me going too much in this direction, feel free to let me know (privately if possible) as I count most of you as friends
p.s- Article is great!

@Cain Thanks for sharing. It's not that people can't disagree, it's the over-the-top bickering that was getting at me. (And apologies. If you read the "CEO letter" the recommended course of action for addressing negativity is to ignore it, which I did not do.) @mishapelt Thank you. I was just venting. We are all going to dust eventually. ;) @Donald Mulders Thanks! I was probably pointing to the peripheral noise surrounding dev disagreements/ego issues. You are correct, there is no point to all of this without users and merchants and adoption. @Adam Wisz I can understand how on-chain comments might encourage some to pay attention to the gap between stimulus and response. I've seen some silly/crazy stuff on memo.cash still! Public disagreement and discussion is not all bad, just when it's conducted in a climate of lack of respect and/or malicious intent. I keep saying that I'll check out memo soon... ;)
Hey, @Imkeshav Glad I'm not the only one typing and deleting replies! Twitter is weird since I'm relatively new in BCH-land. When you don't know who's been bantering for years and who's suddenly inserting themselves into every contentious debate, it's like walking around blind. The algorithms of Twitter encourage us to notice other people's conversations and then retweeting just amplifies the craziness. "Look what so-and-so just said..."

@Adam Wisz You are very kind to extend an invitation to memo. I'm trying to minimize time-sucks, but never say never! ;)
