GUIDE: Bitcoin Cash micro-crowdfunding with AKARI-Pages Builder (APB)

Run the Step-by-Step AKARI-PAGES Builder (APB) Guide as "Badger Builder" (nice one @RideDonkeys ;) gives you support each step of the way, here is the guide:
APB lets anyone set up a mobile-device-friendly, decentralized (you own it), micro-crowdfunding mini-site that accepts peer-to-peer Bitcoin Cash, with open-ended campaigns, goal-levels, progress percentages, and mobile-friendly quick-payments via BCH. Fully open-source, free, zero fees, and possibly the best thing about it is that you 100% own your site and campaign. Now... We have prepared a step-by-step guide to help you start your campaign.
For our previous post introducing and describing aspects of APB please read here or read more about our free and open-source tools at http://agf.earth/tools.html

Thanks for trying it out @mishapelt - any feedback helps - so if you could mention what step was the most difficult on http://agf.earth/guide/apb, we can do our best to improve the tools and guides. BTW, I think you are doing a good job with the QR pictures, hope that has been helping? all the best.

Thanks Akari for telling me abut the QR pictures :-) it is motivating to know, someone enjoys it :-) and yes, it is helping!
It is not the guide, I can follow that. Until step 6. I did not get over the gitgub, repisitory settings. Also it looks bit different then in the quide. To chose the master branch I have to scroll way more down, and then it doesnt allow me to choose it.

@mishapelt that is interesting, it may yet be a problem with the guide, I see your github, if you are logged in, and go to https://github.com/MishaPelt/project_funding - and if you go to the settings tab and scroll to master, and it will not let you save the master branch for project_funding repository, that might mean that one needs to set/upload at least one file in the repository first, if that is the case, we need to mention that on the guide. I will try it out in a test, and if you could let me know if this works, thank you!

Akari, yes, is said somethink like that. I need to upload first...and then I did not know what to do with that. I would love to let you know, but I am not sure if I understand. You do a test and then I should try again? Shall we chat somewher else? Sometimes takes me time with english and tech staff to get things...;-)

@mishapelt the guide needed to mention that a repository must at least have a readme.txt file or at least one kind of file in it so it isn't empty, so when you create a repository it will present you the option to add some files, so we have updated Step 6: http://agf.earth/guide/apb/step6.html - this shows that you can choose from a few options on what first few files must go in the repository. Once you have one file, you can continue to set the master branch as GitHub Pages root under the settings tab (which is now step7.html which - it might require a browser cache refresh to show the correct ordering of step pages since we added a new step thanks to your feedback).

It worked. Now I could choose the master branch and save it. I add readme, even though I have no idea. I just wrote in the title what was prewriten in shadow there, and it was ok. I will clean my computer and go through the steps today. I have morning, so should be possible. Kids are still speeping :-) That is nice on being in Czech and have daylight from 5 am, and no joint in the night ;-)
Oh, and thank you for the tip, my yours was almost empty again, now I can give forward ...loving this yours, bch karma ...

Awesome @mishapelt! Now you have a blank/empty repository to upload files later - and then you'll have your free webpage at: https://mishapelt.github.io/project_funding/ No worries :-) thank you for taking the time to try the guide and APB and share feedback! If you have any more questions I will try to help when I can and so others might see these replies in the future. Really looking forward to seeing your finished page! Heading for some rest now good luck!

Hi AKARI :-)
I mannaged to create the project. It still does not look how I would like to, and the address does not work. I tried to make some changes in github, some woked (like the colours) and some not, like call to action and the addres. Wuld you be so kind and check it out? I think I need some advise on working with it. Thank you.

Hi @mishapelt - so far so good! I see why it isn't working quite right, some files were renamed to have (1), (2) etc, so now instead of replacing the originals there are some duplicates --- but it is an easy fix on GitHub!
Luckily if you log in to your GitHub: https://github.com/MishaPelt/project_funding/ you can edit the original file directly. Here are some instructions for you:

If the picture above didn't load properly, try this link.
So you also have to make sure the image file is named correctly (it must be called fundpic.jpg), and lastly, for some reason the payment page was not uploaded, it must be renamed to have your own electron cash address, then uploaded. The file begins with "addr="
Let me know if this helps, looking forward to seeing your finished page!

Yes you're welcome, the time difference sure doesn't help, but really looking forward to seeing how it goes! A proper Bitcoin Cash wallet, such as Electron Cash wallet is highly recommended, but that specific wallet is not required since there is also the http://wallet.bitcoin.com wallet, copay wallet, bitpay wallet (all similar), among others, so long as the wallet uses the CashAddr format which is the visual style they should all work the same.
You could even use Electron Cash to back up your Yours.org account. You definitely need a proper wallet for APB. One of the developers for Electron Cash is here on yours.org if anyone would like to ask them about it: https://www.yours.org/@jonald_fyookball
We do recommend the open-source Electron Cash so that you completely own your funds and fundraiser, since Electron Cash also runs on a Desktop, we recommend that as your own "base of operations" over the Mobile Apps that could/maybe get lost when the phone is lost. We also recommend installing Electron Cash because it allows you to create multiple wallet files, thus keeping your fundraisers separate for transparency/accounting purposes. These wallet files are stored on the local machine and can (and should be) be backed up onto an external drive for extra safekeeping.
One of our next big projects we're working on (it is not primarily for fundraising) will involve more use of Electron Cash, so we are making it a goal to teach people how to leverage various aspects of the Wallet software, such as creating a list of different receiving addresses that still go into the same fund, etc. If you're familiar with the Pagebuilder and AKARI tools and Electron Cash, you'll have a head start with that!

Hello again, AKARI : - )
Its really nice that you looking forward when I finish. I am almost there! That is really amasing, playing with code. 15 years ago, I hardly could sent an email :-)
I managed to fix almost everything, but the address. I can not have electroncash at the moment from some reason (and I learned to listen this kind of warnings, during my lifewalk). I tried. My computer does not allow me do open the file. I also remembered I use to have one. I found it, tried to delete it, becasue it was old 2.9.3 version. It did not help. I can not open the new one. My computer is doing wierd, and that might be the reason, I think it is going to die sooner or later, and maybe the pohone is safer option for me. And I will purchased hard one when I can - soon :-)
So, I have bitcoin.com wallet now, but could not configureate it. I m still not sure I understand it well. Thank You.

Hi @mishapelt :-) I've created these instructions for using Bitcoin.com wallet just in case and for any future reference, it shows you how to get your address from the Bitcoin.com wallet, and send it to yourself. It also has a reminder that it must be the correct BCH wallet. Then it explains how to edit front_donatelink.txt and front_address.txt using your Bitcoin.com App Wallet address information.
It looks like you updated front_donatelink.txt and front_address.txt - so maybe If you've already done those two things already? If so, at the bottom of the instructions it shows that all you would then need to do then is also rename the addr= file so that it has your address - if you do not have that file and/or it is not correctly named, the link won't work and payments are not activated. This confirms it goes to the right page and payments can be made.
So if you don't have the file, you may have to fetch it from the APB pack at https://github.com/akari-b3/apb - but if you do have the file, make sure the information in front_donatelink.txt should match the filename of the payment page, the file name must start with addr= and end with .html but have your address in between.

The most important thing is to make sure your own payment addr=.html file is uploaded to your repository (and named correctly) so everyone visiting your fundraiser is confident they're sending donations to the right address.

Once you've done that and you feel your page is ready to go, I can add it a link to it on http://bitfund.cash - we can come up with a small description of the page, and use one of the images you are using. Both doodles are quite fun! I really like the emojis and other unique additions you've done, and your fundraiser seems very interesting and fun overall. Don't forget maybe you'd like to add a link to your profile here on http://yours.org/@mishapelt ?

Hi AKARI (starting to feel bit funny to call you like that :)
first of all, thank you again.
Just little bit ago, I got Avast message, that the app (ElectronCash) is safe. So they somehow block the use of it. Now I downloaded it and recover my wallet. Mannaged to create new one for the fundraiser. I guess, I will redo it again. I would like to go with what you are encouraging, you have your reasons. I also today checked the AKARI website, wow. I am sorry I found out that late. I remember your first post here on Your. What a job done, and so much opportunities. The care and love is feelable through the screen. I like it a lot.
Now to myslef. Yes, I did some things. The last renaming, lets make it clear. Should I name the file in my computer (rename) to my address? Will it "overwrite the code"?
With the image I had to rename the file back to fundpic (I had to delete the jpg, because it makes it automaticaly. In Githug the was the file named like fundpic.jpg.jpg)

I changed the cover picture, because the original one took so long to load. So I put Anikas one instead.
Yes, you are right, I could add my Yours profile, and also the MishaPelt webstie, but is there a way how I can do it in github in the file? Well, there is a way, but can you tell me?
Also, I would like to know, what is the trick (code) whatever is called to make space between lines. I tried so many ways....somewhere is worked, somewhere not. Still it could look bit more tidy;

I think I am getting the clue about this coding world, it seems, that it is like languege, very precise, ...its almost like magic! I was translating the project to my 82 years old father, and showing him github and the fund page, clicking between windows, pointing at thigs...great experience :-) I havent seen the tears, but I feel, he is very proud at me

It is great to see that encouragement! I'm glad you got Electron Cash going and could make a new wallet for the fund! But yes, if more donations come in it is good to make backups of your wallet files. Thanks for taking the time to have a look at http://agf.earth/ and for your feedback, thank you! Yes, for the addr= file, simply rename the file in your computer (so it has the correct address.) Right click on the file -> Rename (or on mac highlight the file and push return), double-tap on the part with the address and should highlight everything (between addr= and html starting with q). Renaming the filename on your disk will not (should not) change the interior code. For yours.org profile If you use the pencil button on GitHub to edit front_projectinfo.txt and add at the bottom: <a href="http://yours.org/@mishapelt">Visit my yours.org profile at @mishapelt!</a>
(a is the link tag, href="" is where the link must go, whatever is between <a> and </a> will be what the link says or will look like). Space between lines is <br> for break (line break) like: <br>
This would do one space, if you want to, do:
<br><br> If you want to add emtpy space between items you can use:

I feel like an idiot (but I am still nice to myself, its all totaly different word). I am reading the final step around and around, and trying to figure out what and where to do.
" Yes, for the addr= file, simply rename the file in your computer (so it has the correct address.) Where to do this? I was making it yesterday on the page builder. Today in gitgub in the edit code section.
Where do I do the last think? Sorry, I cant get it....:(
I also have the zip file, akari page builder, there is some addr and a chrome picture, I opened it, there is Akari qr code, and in the middle addres...starts with addr= but does not end with httml

Don't worry, I think it is the fileexplorer hiding file extensions (.html) for some reason - something we must mention in the guide and consider. The final file should be on your local disk, and it is just easier (and safer) to rename it on disk before uploading to GitHub. BUT, you can edit the file name on GitHub too.
It sounds like you found the right file (yes it starts with addr=, but it might not show .html because of an operating system setting), either way, rename the file to have your address and upload that to GitHub (even if it doesn't show .html) it should show the extension once it is on GitHub. Let me know once you've uploaded it, so I can see how it looks.
If you need the file alone for any reason, I've added a single file as an archive over here. https://github.com/AKARI-B3/apb/raw/master/zipped_payment_page.zip
I had a look at the updated front_address.txt and front_donatelink.txt - the receiving address has to start with q, it must be a Cash Address format. If you're back to using Electron Cash, Make sure you use Cash Address as shown on http://agf.earth/guide/apb/step3.html this is because the payment page will only load and allow payments if it uses Cash Address - the cash address format has a unique feature that allows AKARI-PAY to function correctly.

I could use the space, and it looks nice now, I think. This part is ready.
I also noticed, there is not cashadrr, and thought, it might be the electron wallet.
Now I used tool to convert the address insite the electroncash, and change it it the files in github. I hope it is enough. We shall find with the test.
As for the last file, I think, I got it now. It is just file like all the others, right, in the github it should be? I think, 3 days ago, when I was using it for the first time, and learning it all, I possibly accidently delete it.
The link you gave me last, is the page builder, not a single file, or I am too tired...
I promised my girls, that this goona be finished, and tomorrow we will have quality day. I need to give them attention and love. I would love though, that this is finished and out.
Lets see....:-)

Spacing looks good! Addresses look good! Yes, the file should be in the GitHub, but for some reason, it is not, but it can be uploaded at any time.
The link, may have been a yours bug, here it is again, just in case: https://github.com/AKARI-B3/apb/raw/master/zipped_payment_page.zip - it should look like that.
I hope I can help you finish it today, so you can have fun tomorrow with them, I am looking out for the uploaded addr= file on this side. You may still have to rename it once it is on GitHub, if it wasn't changed before uploading. I'll have a look out for it at: https://github.com/MishaPelt/project_funding

Thank You Akari, for your attention and help. I check the file you sent, it is what I looked before, atleast something. I tried to rename it, but it does not allow me. I dont have mac, but windows. It is almost 3am and I need to go sleep atlest a bit. I will check when I wake up, maybe there will be message from you, and maybe I still can catch up with you before you go sleep. Tommorow I try to recover a bit, get some nature and fun, it is getting bit too much for my body and mind. I have it at times, hard to stop, :-) but then I pay my price. I feel I need brake.
It is actually really amazing achivment for me, to write it all up, on one page, and liking it. Lets hope, the address will be solved and the project out, before I change mind and start to doubt it.
Thank you again, for all you help, technical and your honest and encouraging words :-)

Have a great day

That is good feedback ie. name change on windows. Don't stress, you can upload it to GitHub and change the name there too anytime.
You're doing great with this, everything you have mentioned has provided feedback on how we can improve this tool too and make it easier for future users, so thank you for being one of the first to use it and provide such feedback and keep going - already I am working on improvements to various areas as well as considering this while working on the new tools based on areas of your feedback. I know how that goes! Rest up and if you need to take some time away and come back to it later with 'fresh eyes', you might find you decide you want to make some last minute tweaks before sharing your fundraiser.

I found out, that the cash address in the ElectronCash was not by deafuld, so I changed it in the settings. Now there is no need for converting it!
Also, I find out, that I can not rename the file for addr=, but when I dragged it to the desktop, I does allow me now.

Congratulations and it's up on http://bitfund.cash now! You're right, I know that feeling too, and @satoshidoodles is true. There's always someone who can say something is wrong or missing but it is better to get something done, we get a lot of comments about bitfund that it looks like an old 90s website, but never how to make it not look like one 🙄 :-) but even if we want to get something done, sometimes unexpected events come up and we can't work exactly how we originally wanted to, it is okay, as long as we can keep going!
