I didn't get into Bitcoin to get rich
Here on Yours, I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir but I didn't into Bitcoin to get rich. Nowadays that seems like what all of the "Bitcoiners" want to do. They're just "hodling" their coins to watch it rise in value. Like stocks. Or perhaps more like tulips. No, when I got into Bitcoin years back, it was because I loved the idea of a digital currency in an ever-more-becoming-digital world. A digital currency where I control my own money, no matter what.
The fact that the government (or anyone else for that matter) can't just print up more Bitcoin or that banks can't just pretend they have more money than they do is enough to sell me. My money gains value and maintains that value.
Nowadays I pay for pretty much everything with Bitcoin. My bank account usually sits damn close to empty with my money stored in Bitcoin (and moreso Bitcoin Cash). I pay many of my bills with Bitcoin. I pay for my groceries with Bitcoin. If there's a store I can go to that lets me pay with Bitcoin, I'll prefer that over a non-Bitcoin-accepting store. Or restaraunt. Or anything. Even if it costs me slightly more.
I got into Bitcoin to *spend* Bitcoin.
