As you might know, there is a very popular game that everybody in the teenage world is playing. Most are obsessed with it. It goes by the name of Fortnite. Fortnite is a FPS (First Person Shooter). You are dropped from the sky onto an island with up to 99 other players. Your goal is to collect weapons and defeat the other players until you are the last one standing.
"What's so special about that?" you may be wondering. I am, too. But as I wandered into downloading and playing the game, out of curiosity of course, I found that it doesn't have a real reason. It's just fun to play, or at least for me. It may be a bandwagon effect, also known as pure pressure. In these logical fallacies, people feel as if they have to join in with the multitudes of people doing something. Although, for me, I feel the opposite of these effects. I feel repelled from the popularity. I want to be original and be my own person. This is also a logical fallacy called snob appeal. Don't worry if you fall into one of these logical traps. All of us do at some point in time.
Now, I only explained half of the game. Also known as the popular half. The other half is a zombie apocalypse where you have to save the world. It's paid for, while the other half isn't, so that may be a contributing factor to the popularity difference. But anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post! Have a great rest of your day or night.
