Introduction to hivr (more than just another bitcoin cash social media app?)
Why did we create hivr?
Many people will realise, that hivr is far from the first Bitcoin Cash focussed social network application and tipping platform, with the existence of amazing platforms such as yours.org, memo.cash, blockpress, and tipprbot. So why did we created hivr? The short answer to that question is simply ease of use, especially in regards to newer users. The fact is, while existing platforms are great, they either lack key features or are just not well integrated. To name a few examples, they lack instant messaging, new users cannot post to these existing social network platforms without first owning some Bitcoin Cash, and none of these platforms support uploading media natively, so posting pictures etc requires extra effort. Similarly, third party plug ins (for lack of a better term) like tipprbot and telegram’s tipmebch, also falls short in terms of usability because it requires users to learn short commands, and there's a complete lack of integration leading to many tips becoming unclaimed. So basically, we created hivr because we wanted to combine all these amazing ideas within the Bitcoin Cash community into 1 well integrated, easy to use application. Essentially with hivr, you can post any content you want for free, tip the posts you like, create group chats, and send each other tips right within the chat, all within 1 application.
hivr feature walkthrough
Anyone who has used any social network platform will be familiar with the feed. Essentially it displays recent and popular posts, according to the people you follow and the interests you have chosen during sign up. Within the feed, you can interact with any post by liking, commenting, reposting or tipping any posts which interests you. You can also follow and view other people’s profile within the feed.
To post new content, simply click the yellow pencil button located in the feed and your profile. Currently you can post Texts, Music, Videos, Photos, Gifs and Links. In the near future we will also allow you to create immutable texts post which is saved directly on the BCH blockchain similiar to memo.cash and blockpress.
Peer to peer Chatting / instant messaging:
Our instant messaging platform is extremely secure as it features psuedo p2p end to end encryption utilising RSA key exchange and AES128. Unlike most instant messaging platform currently in use (Facebook, Line, WeChat just to name a few…) this ensures that the content of your messages aren’t saved on our server and they remain private between you and your recipients as they should do. Similar to most IM apps, users can chat person to person, create a group chat, send files as well as gifs and emojis to each other. Additionally you could also send and tip each other Bitcoin Cash directly within the chat, it is quite literally as easy as sending an emoji.
The wallet introduces an intuitive, beginner friendly ui, allowing you to pay, and send Bitcoin Cash to your friends just by using usernames. The wallet is also decentralised and secure, as it was built utilising BIP39. This means that you are fully in control of private key and therefore your funds. This also gives you the ability to recover your funds via the recover phrase and export your private key into another Bitcoin Cash wallet application if you wish to.
- hivr was created with the goal of combining amazing ideas within the BCH community into 1 well integrated easy to use application.
- hivr functions like most social network, where you can post new content and discover other contents and reward them with Bitcoin Cash.
- hivr is also a secure encrypted messaging app, and you can send each other Bitcoin Cash right within the messenger.
- hivr is build using BIP39, so the wallet is decentralised, and the funds can easily be recovery or exported to another wallet using the recovery key.
