The following infographic explores what has changed in the BTC and BCH networks over the past six months, by exploring a couple of critical success criteria.
It shows that, since late October last year:
  • The price of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has increased at a higher rate than that of BTC
  • That relatively more mining hashpower has chosen BCH over BTC
  • That usage of the BCH network is growing faster than that of BTC (which is actually shrinking)
  • That the Lightning Network has added virtually no additional capacity to the BTC network in the past six months
All data was sourced from https://bitinfocharts.com/, apart from LN data, which was pulled from https://lnmainnet.gaben.win/. A seven-day moving average was used for all data apart from LN statistics, in order to reduce the risk of a peak-to-trough comparison.

Lightning Network is unrelated to side chains.
And how do you compare LN capacity to on chain capacity? One is measured in BTC, the other in transactions/day.
