Our protagonist exists in a space of creation, the architect of a new structure using the carefully sorted and vetted debris from the wreckage of the previous structure, destroyed in a “calamity.” The process of rebuilding provides the context for discovering the insights into the old, the new, and the eternal. His interactions with both “tso,” a mysterious, loving guide, and “Frank,” an obnoxious eternal critic, both influence the creative process and the lessons learned. This simple format provides the basis into understanding deep truths in an allegorical myth vaguely reminiscent of C.S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce.”
