Why I like Memo more than Yours right now
With the exception of not having the ability to make long posts or replies, Memo has the biggest perks that Yours doesn't:
- Replies and reply threading (to infinity, actually!).
- Liking posts without tipping.
- An app.
I don't mention the Paid content section because I use it so little and it's not really a feature I care about that much. I might later, but in these early days, tipping and adoption is far more important. Without people here, interacting, the good idea that Yours is, doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter that much to me that Memo has a Twitter design to it. I think it has room to grow. Maybe even integrate with Yours. I don't know.
Yours links the best. Memo has the best reply system. I might not have them both in the same spot, but I can certainly do a hybrid style for posts and videos. I've even started posting memo links to facebook, which I know is a Duh, and I'm referring to that of doing a hybrid of Yours and Memo to facebook.
Huh. Interestingly enough, having it post from Yours
is actually a smoother visual experience than from Memo.
Although, as you can see, the specific text of all of the Memo post is included, whereas just the title is included from Yours.
Now, for either of Memo or Yours, being able to specify what would be the posting image would be immensely helpful - and Yours could improve it drastically simply by having the default image be not the poster's profile picture, but the picture (if any) - from the specific post shared.
